Inspired by @busybeelearningau, I’m thinking Micha Inspired by @busybeelearningau, I’m thinking Michael the Volcano Engineer might just be the ultimate Book Week costume! 🥹🧣🪱🪣🌋🐭

And now I’m wondering… should I break out the old exploding volcano experiment next week to celebrate? 🤔🌋💥

Because obviously, reading a book about a volcano engineer means we need a science experiment too as well as some psychoeducation 😂

Feeling pretty chuffed to have been nominated for Feeling pretty chuffed to have been nominated for the Australian Psychologist of the Year at the Allied Health Awards @alliedhealthawards 🥹✨🦁💚

It’s genuinely such an honour to be included alongside some absolute powerhouses in psychology, including Director of @aapi.org.au Rachel Samson @australianpsychologist, Dr Kim Eaton @drkimeaton, and Johanna Knyn @psychologist_joh to name a few. What a group to be in!

Running @roarpsychology and providing the most evidenced-based and affirming supports to our community is something I’m incredibly passionate about, and this nomination feels like a lovely reflection of the amazing people I get to work with every day. Our team, our clients, and everyone who supports what we do.

I’m feeling very grateful and looking forward to celebrating with such an inspiring bunch. ✨

Still reflecting on the past two days at the LOAPA Still reflecting on the past two days at the LOAPAC Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapy Conference @ndaffirmingtherapyconference - my brain is full and I feel both excited and overwhelmed by all the discussions 🥳🤯🥸

A few of the highlights that will stay with me:

✨ Marie Camin’s @mariecamin reflections on the intergenerational impact of autistic unmet needs and the relational misunderstandings that can happen without conscious awareness. Seeing this on a daily basis in practice - having it outlined in a framework was so validating!

✨ Casey Brocksopp’s @holistictherapyconsulting reminder to centre non-speaking neurodivergent people in our work—voices that are still so often overlooked.

✨ Aimee Pember’s @neurobloom.learninghub beautiful discussion on becoming a mother and intuitive parenting, which resonated with me on such a personal level 🥹

✨ Cath Fernando’s @spoons_advocacy thoughts on creating the conditions for authentic friendships. Her analogy that “friendship is like falling asleep—if you’re actively trying, it doesn’t work” is one I’ll be carrying with me into every school meeting in the future. Such a great way to articulate supporting social needs.

✨ Den @den_abreu_haven_psychology @havenpsychology & Lil’s @neurokinnection exploration of the intent vs impact gap really stayed with me—how the sender’s meaning and the receiver’s nervous system can experience the same interaction so differently. Their question, “What is true for you?”, felt like such a simple yet powerful invitation to curiosity and connection.

I’m so grateful to every speaker who shared their passion, lived experience and expertise so generously. It was a privilege to learn from you all.

Big thanks to lovely chats with Adelle @neurodivergent_ally, Mickey @mimbalu_australia, Esther @sproutpsychology, Connie @socialstencil, Emma-Rose @emmarosepsychologist and Tara & Steve @findyourvoiceorg ♥️

A huge thank you to Lana @busylittlebeebooks, Yael @yaelclarkpsychologist, Liam @liamspicer_ and @loapac_psychologists for the opportunity to attend. I left feeling challenged, inspired and excited to keep learning. 🤍
Since opening the new @roarpsychology space in Mit Since opening the new @roarpsychology space in Mitcham little Michael the Volcano Engineer hasn’t had as much love! I get so much joy seeing my little book going out into the world 💌📫

It will be great to go to @myspiritedchildevents this weekend and share Michael with such a beautiful community of ADHD’ers, families, parents, caregivers and professionals.
